27/05/2011 CD NEWS - THE CORE & THE RUM DIARY

8 years after its theatrical release and a promotional release the score to one of Christopher Young's best action scores, The Core will soon get an official release by Intrada. Apart from that Christopher Young is working on a CD for the score to The Rum Diary. The movie is directed by Bruce Robinson and is an adaption of Hunter S. Thompson's novel starring Johnny Depp, Aaron Eckart and Giovanni Ribisi. It is set for a fall release.

05/09/2011 PRIEST - SOUNDTRACK PREVIEW

Before its release on May 10th at Madison Gate Records Chrisyoung-filmmusic.info offers his readers an exclusive preview of Christopher Young's latest score to Priest. Directed by Scott Charles Stewart (The Legion) Priest is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi thriller that is set in an alternate world - one ravaged by centuries of war between man and vampires. The story revolves around a legendary Warrior Priest (Paul Bettany) from the last Vampire War who now lives in obscurity among the other downtrodden human inhabitants in walled-in dystopian cities ruled by the Church. 14/01/2011 THE BLACK TULIP - OSCAR CONTENDER

The official Afghanistan Oscar entry for Best Foreign film. The film, based on a true story, examines an Afghan family's life ruined by the Taliban after they close their poetry cafe. The Black Tulip opens a window into a moderate yet devoutly Muslim middle class and the struggles they encounter. The score conveys both the physical and emotional climate of the region with Middle Eastern motiffs along with orchestral arrangements. Golden Globe nominated composer Christopher Young discusses music scores of The Priest, The Black Tulip, and Drag Me to Hell on Film Music Live. Film Music Live is a new channel on Justin.TV created to give viewers a chance to ask there favorite composers questions about their current and past work. Showcasing bi-weekly, different composers and musicians’ stream live. This live broadcast is open to the public with chats and questions of their choosing.
Film Music Live premiers with Christopher Young July 28 at 5:30-6:30 pm PST. The video broadcast will stream on the Film Music Live channel from the website Justin.TV. 01/08/2010 THE SABOTEUR SCORE RELEASED ON ITUNES

At the end of the last year Christopher Young wrote the main theme for his first videogame project: The Saboteur. The game was produced by Pandemic Studios, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc.. Set in World War II France it takes the players through the seedy underbelly of Paris as hero Sean Devlin sets off on a revenge mission. "The Saboteur's visually striking environments were a major inspiration for me when composing,' said Young. 'The theme is a combination of The Saboteur's unique blend of artistry and storyline mixed with the confusion, suspense, excitement and social temperament of the time period. It's mysterious and dark but filled with a subtle feeling of hope." Christopher Young's music is available on iTunes for download. Details can be found at the audio and discography section.

01/08/2010 LOVE HAPPENS & CREATION TO BE RELEASED

Christopher Young's latest scores to Love Happens and to the critically acclaimed Charles Darwin biopic Creation will both released on CD. Lakeshore Records will release Creation on January 18th. The score CD to Love Happens will follow on February 16, 2010.

Christopher Young will score Bruce Robinson's adaption of Hunter S. Thompson's novel The Rum Diary starring Johnny Depp, Aaron Eckart and Giovanni Ribisi. The Rum Diary marks the second collaboration of Robinson and Young after Jennifer Eight. The movie is set to be released in 2010 and tells the story of Paul Kemp (Depp), a freelance journalist who finds himself at a critical turning point in his life while writing for a run-down newspaper in the Caribbean.
